Scene in Homosassa

MacRae Family Home

Homosassa surrounds the Homosassa River which is fed by a first magnitude springs, around which a state park surrounds with native animals on display. Many people come here and tell us that Homosassa is like thier more populated and popular Florida, thirty years ago. It's like stepping back in time a little and being lost in a big green shag carpet.

Here are coast is dominated by woody hammocks, vast salt marshes, shallow water with great fishing, and some of the most inaccessible wilderness in the United States!

Great shots of my favorite river! A really nice essay, Dennis! The reflections are so beautiful. I have a picture of the Macrae's family home almost like yours. I have a shot of the old store, which I am so glad I got before the tore it down.
