UNRWA school celebrations
20 Feb 2011
In the heart of the Palestinian camp on the outskirts of Damascus is the school run by United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
In the summer heat of 2010 the children take part in celebrations of the 10-year anniversary Bashar Al Assad rule. Their Palestinian identity seemed to take a back role this day, as students marched with Syrian flags and stern uniforms as they struggled in the stifling heat.
These children recognise the 10 year rule of Bashar and the nearly 4-decade rule of the Assad family.
In a country where they were born, in a country where they are not citizens, where do Palestinian child refugees stand on this chess board of politics?
