Our society is very much focused on consuming, replacing and buying new goodies. Electronic devices, homes, cars what ever needs replacing or to keep up with the pace of modern life.
I, personally can't say I am not part of that rat race but always try to keep in balance with what was (not meaning that I am a pack rat either). Having visited many countries and their cities in my life, I always seem to find time and ways to immortalize objects and locations that might not be there in a couple of years or even sooner.
I love the atmosphere they breath, the history they hold and if possible hear the stories of locals or finding out about them on the Internet or other means. Some of the images below, such as the 42nd street neon sign, are not there any more. They have left for the battlefields of the forgotten.
The only remains are the memories of people and images that have been shot of these once useful objects and locations.
