The emotional side of photography

Have you ever wondered why sometimes the mind doesn't seem to interpret things the same way? I, especially have wondered about that with photography. Your emotional state, the sounds, surroundings, people, even the smell of for instance hot chestnuts being sold on the corner of the street can influence the way you shoot your photo's (well it does for me in any case). Does it make sense? It is the same with being motivated or inspired. I have had a so called visual block for a while now. No real stimuli to feed my brains / eyes and shoot images that say something, radiate emotion or just are breath taking. I miss that immensely at the moment. But I know, as many writers do as well, it will return. But when..when is the question.
