a study of lycoris radiata

i have always been fascinated by the surprise lilly (lycoris radiata)! it pops up in different spots in our neighborhood every year around the beginning of fall. i think they are so amazing because of their color and intricate petals and stamens. i was inspired to photograph these particular lilies because of the sunlight and dew reflections that caught my eye yesterday morning. seeing the first spider lillies after a LONG, HOT summer in arkansas means fall is soon to be here! i would like to give credit to CAROL HOLMES for the inspiration to photograph these beauties close up in TTV. See carol's amazing work at http//jpgmag.com/people/cookieholmes
*a very special thanks to rajeev for the nomination : ) !!!
