One day a friend ask me if I knew how to "cube" a picture (several years ago!) and my aswer was no, in fact I did not try the process till much later. She downloaded a pair of photo editors (free ones) PhotoFiltre (made by a french developer) and PhotoScape (wich I already knew) and wanted to experiment. I was shown a "cubed" pic and I thought, at the time, it got a lot of potential as curiosity!. However I liked how this programs worked together, I've been using them since and along with Photoshop I really can create very unusual stuff. Here's a collection of cubed pics. Many of my friends (non photographers) find them fascinating, they really are not but who am I to differ! If someboy ask I still cube their pics, it's really easy stuff anybody can do. I wanted to cube some now for the hell of it, just for showing.

The process is very simple. I got the cube in PhotoScape's Filters and I finish all the contrast, blurring and fogging (if any) in PhotoFiltre. I really like this program for tweeking the final product. You can do so much stuff is not funny, I like "aging" my pics (on PhotoScape) when i cubed them, in fact this programs have a large variaty of filters. Even that i love using Photoshop, sometimes I get a better result mixing my editors. Each one have properties and features exclusively of their own. In PhotoFiltre I particularly like the Visual Effects Filters but the photo mask is a bit constrained. Love the Relief filter because I can use it softly or heavily if need it.The buttons on the tool bar make it possible to make precision adjustments of the luminosity, contrast and saturation of colors. This make this program really useful. So go, experiment a bit and enjoy!
