When I uploaded my first photo to JPG, I was overwhelmed by the feedback I received. The critique, the kind words, and all the encouragement. It made me want to keep shooting, and keep exploring. It made me want to share more with the community here. So much has happened to me since I uploaded my first photo here: I've been published, I've started my own company, and I've met so many new friends here, even some I communicate with now outside of JPG in many ways. Though this photo wasn't my first dabble in photography, I chose my first photo to upload because it was my favorite, and I feel like it had the most impact. It's a beautiful night photo, with the lights of the city contrasting with the speed of the cars along the bridge. This photo was taken in 2008, with a Kodak point and shoot camera. Can you believe it? Recently I visited New York City again, and made it a priority to revisit the bridge at night, to recreate one of my favorite photos. I'm not exactly sure which one I like more, I like them both a lot, for a lot different reasons. It's definitely not the same photo, which is why I like it. They both have a different style, even though they were both done by me. There's a lot to say about these two. I wanted to contrast where I started and how far I've come in about the last 4 years. I'm just glad I got the opportunity to revisit New York, and my very experience with JPG.
