Photo Essay

A Visit to Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Most of the Brooklyn waterfront has been reclaimed with investment bankers living in Brooklyn Heights, Wall Street lawyers enjoying Cobble Hill and those with a million or so to spare restoring brownstones in Fort Green and Williamsburg. But just beyond Wiliamsburg and just this side of Queens is Greenpoint where there are still small factories and empty buildings.... just waiting to become lofts and condominiums.

Many small houses have been restored and once vacant stores are now wine bars and pottery shops.

There is lots of waterfront with old piers and even a new pier for the ferry to Manhattan.

And there are photographers.
