And So It Goes...

Our hound, Sophie, is a rescue that developed Addison's Disease eight years ago and almost died. She has to have a DOCP shot once a month and take Prednisone every other day. I don't know if it has anything to do with any of this, but Sophie is hungry all the time. Our day often begins with her standing over us at about 5:30 AM pawing at the covers to let us know it is time to get out of bed and feed her.
On 28 November we had an appointment to bring her into the animal hospital to have a growth removed from her neck. We were told she could have no food between her afternoon meal on 27 November and her appointment at 8:30AM 28 November. We looked at each other and realized that Sophie would drive us nuts from 5:30 AM until 8:30AM. That's when I said "When she wakes us up I'll get her in the car and take a drive." Sophie loves to go for a drive.
That morning as Sophie and I headed out the door I grabbed my camera just in case. As we headed east on Route 1 the sunrise looked like it might be a good one. When we arrived at Point Judith I headed for the lighthouse to see if I could get some decent pics. Sophie was far more interested in sniffing than standing still so I could use the camera and was constantly tugging at the leash. (I know what you're thinking...why not just let her run without the leash...well...she'd follow her nose and quickly become lost...or worse...get hit by a vehicle...she loves to chase vehicles...the bigger the better.)
After trying to take a few hurried pics and much sniffing we headed back down Ocean Road to Black Point Fishing Area so Sophie could do more sniffing while I tried to take a few more hurried pics. Then it was off to Westerly and Sophie's rendezvous with the vet.
PS When we picked Sophie up at 4:30PM on 28 November we were told she was to still have nothing to eat until the next morning. Morning came very early the next day.
