Discovering Carl* In Norway

I had a crush on the Yashica T4 for some time after hearing many rave reviews and finally bit the bullet and decided to buy one. It was however, a good 18 months before that decision resulted in ownership, being constantly beaten at the last minute in many eBay auctions. Perseverance paid off and in June I managed to snap one up for a bargain and it luckily landed on my doorstop just in time for a trip I had planned to Norway.

This was the first time I've used film in about 5 years and I loved every minute of it. With limited film on hand every shot is considered and appreciated and then there is of course the delicious anticipation of finally seeing the results when you pick up the developed film. The size of the camera is really convenient for traveling and I enjoyed the super scope viewfinder (particularly given a number of photos were taken on a kayak),

Discovering the Carl Zeiss T* Tessar fixed 35mm has been a joy. I love the sharpness, colour contrast and clarity. These are some of my favorite shots from the first two rolls of film with the camera whilst in Norway. The Yashica T4 is definitely not leaving the bag anytime soon...

Fantastic landscapes. I have a feeling Carl* will be a very loyal companion for years to come.
