First Thrill of the Power of the Ocean

I thought it was sweet and tender how the father let his son explore the waves, and experience the excitement and scary thrill of what was probably a first experience for the little boy. The father stays close enough to be protective, but allows the boy to feel the adventure and thrill of chasing and being chased by the sea. It was touching and funny to see the boy attempt to get his Dad to follow him into the surf, then have the courage to chase the waves by himself, but quickly run back to his father with an outstretched hand, seeking protection. It was also funny to watch the Dad quickly retreating from the approaching surf, trying to keep his shoes dry!
