My Darling Dahlia
2 Apr 2012
In January of 2010, I learned that I was going to be a mom. As scary as that thought was, I was instantly dying to meet her, even before she took shape as a human being.
On October 4, 2010, I gave birth to a heafty 9lb 3 and 1/4oz baby girl. She was perfect. Almond shaped eyes, perfectly round head and just enough hair to swoop to the side. She was an angel.
Today, as i'm writing this, she sleeps soundly in her bed, dreaming of how wonderful the world is. I wish I could protect her from it. The innocence of an 18 month old is astounding. She has no fear and cares not about everyday worries, as she shouldn't.
All though this angel has her bad moods just like any other child. The potty is like torture, and curse me if I try to make her eat carrots, and I STILL don't know how to help her get over the binki. I remind myself that these things are minor and will soon be apart of my "Remember when's." I will be her mommy forever, even when I am gone, and that is what makes me smile. I love you Dahlia, my shoogie boog.
