diversity in photography

What does photography mean? It comes from the Greek words phos - which means light, and graphein - meaning painting ... so, photography is, in essence just painting with light, so why not have fun while doing it?
It's fun getting perfectly sharp shots but sometimes you might need the diversity just to clear your mind and not work like a robot, because photography is still art and art must resemble the artist's inner feelings because if it doesn't, it's just a craftsmanshift.
So, why not move your camera, double expose, zoom or do strange things that nobody heard of before?
That is my point of view, that art should reflect more the artist's own style because nowadays especially photography tends to look the same from artist to artist.
