Photo Essay

Mis-Taken Identity

2nd Poppy Series - 2012 - #1

By true definition of the word accident, I have been long compelled to share this grouping of photos; not that I wanted to include additional images of Poppies again on my profile. Taken from the American Heritage Dictionary® of the English Language, Fourth Edition, an accident can be described as "in general, anything that happens or begins to be without design, or as an unforeseen effect." That being said, this series of Poppy photographs were by all rights taken by accident, merely "falling out by chance; a fortuitous event or circumstance."

For whatever reason, when I reviewed these images through the screen on my Nikon D60, they appeared too dark to truly make out what I had envisioned when taking them. Once I had downloaded them into my computer, opened them with Microsoft Office and allowed the computer to Auto Correct each of the images, the soft, muted resolution is what came through for me. Again, not to apologize for sharing ever more photographs of the tissue paper flowers, there are a few of these I'd consider my favorites. As I have said before, there's no time quite like the spring-time when I await the blooming of the Poppy flowers growing in my yard!
