Los Angeles, So Much To See
By Michele Wambaugh

My mate & I just returned from a too short visit to Los Angeles, California, where I grew up. It was a gorgeous sunny day when we arrived. On the way into town I was able to photograph some of LA's spectacular skyscrapers.
We went to see my two daughters & four grandchildren. They are all at very enjoyable ages and we celebrated the baby's 1st birthday.
Our Armenian friends took us to their friend's son's wedding, which was fantastic! It was the 1st Armenian wedding for both of us. The old venue had been completely redone in pink marble with colonnaded arches and a wall fountain. There were stunning tall white floral arrangements centered on each table, at least 20 tables of ten each and when we arrived waiters were putting about 20 different kinds of appetizers & salads on each table. Then they added bottles of vodka, whiskey & wine. All of the food was fabulous & tasted homemade! I esp. loved 3 eggplant dips & dolmas! Right before the bride & groom entered the reception, 5 male Armenian folk dancers in national costume leaped onto the dance floor & gave us a show. After a bit couples dancing began. Finally the bridal couple cut their 4-tier blue wedding cake & it was served. Meanwhile, guests visited a big sweets table set up in the pink marble foyer.
On Friday, I wandered through various gardens at Huntington Gardens with my daughter & her two boys. We saw the charming children's maze, Rose garden & Japanese garden. The boys petted very tame Koi fish in the last garden. Afterwards, we went to her house where I watched my grandsons swim in their pool.
Saturday was the 1st birthday party for my youngest grandchild. On Sunday, I returned to Andrea's in the afternoon. We walked to a nearby park & played with the babies.
Monday my bestfriend since she was 7 and I was 6 years old picked me up & we went to Descanso Gardens for the 2nd time. The first time had been in April 2010 when I came out to help Andrea after Ava was born. It was May so quite spectacular with beds of every color of rose, iris, tulips & rare for Calif. lilacs! This time the beauty was more greenery & lush. All total, I took about 2,500 photos. It was a perfect visit!

2500 pics? wow, must be very fun, especially this photo of a family event. You must 'a little difficulty' to select the 10 best pictures. Many are still in the developing story of the photo so much of it, of course.
