JODHPUR : The land of "The Dark Knight Rises"

What city do you live in? What neighborhood?

Jodhpur is the second largest city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is located 335 kilometres (208 mi) west from the state capital, Jaipur and 200 kilometres (124 mi) from the city of Ajmer. It was formerly the seat of a princely state of the same name, the capital of the kingdom known as Marwar. Jodhpur is a popular tourist destination, featuring many palaces, forts and temples, set in the stark landscape of the Thar desert.

What are some adjectives that describe your neighborhood?

The Sun City, The Blue City are the 2 adjectives which describe this beautiful land.

Jodhpur is called "THE BLUE CITY because most of the old societies are painted blue near fort area

How long have you lived there, and what brought you there?

I was born in JODHPUR itself and have been living here since then.
Its beauty and culture are the biggest attraction for anybody anywhere.

What is your favorite thing about this place? Your least favorite?

The cultural heritage and clothing of Jodhpur makes it unique city among other cities of Rajasthan.

Do you feel that you belong there?

Yes, being an urbanite of Jodhpur for 18 years, I do feel to belong here, with a lot of helpful and friendly people in my neighborhood

What is the most common misconception about where you live?

Being in a desert, there is a feeling in people's mind that Jodhpur has nothing much to see. (Which is absolutely wrong, actually it is the best tourist spot of Rajasthan)

but the most common misconception of Jodhpur is the lack of institution for higher studies.

What is a special fact about your city that you have to live there to know?

Jodhpur had remained in the news for visits of celebrities for shooting of divert movies.
Jodhpur was in news for being 1 of the prime locations for the shoot of "The Dark Knight's Rises"
The crew along with Christopher Nolan and Christian Ball spent months at Mehrangarh fort

What aspect of your city do you secretly love?

The helpful behavior of people and the spicy food of Jodhpur attracts my attention most in this city

Although the a camera photographs can never justify the actual beauty of this land although I have tried to capture the beauty of this city with my camera.
