Photo Essay

The Reluctant Subject

Batman vs Cake

My wife and I have been blessed with two fantastic children and like most parents with a camera, they are the subject of many of my photos. In the age of digital there's no reason not to document a good chunk of their youth.

Where my daughter (the subject of a prior photo essay) is happy to let me snap away or help me out with a photo project, my son has been a different story. He used to run and hide when the Nikon came out; he would make a game of it, much to my frustration. As he got older, he just didn't want to be seen and let me know it.

Luckily for me, he's turned a corner. I think he's seen the joy I get from getting a good shot of him and it's affected his cooperation. Like any parent, I'm grateful for every memory I can make of my son and his sister. It means the world to me.
