April showers bring may flowers
11 May 2013
Spring has always been my favorite season. There is something so refreshing about watching winter thaw before your eyes. The weather warms, the buds turn to leaves and bulbs beneath moist soil burst into into a kaleidoscope of colours and textures. The fragrant air is not too cool, not too warm and its so pleasant to sit and admire the outdoors. When I bought my Nikon it was the dead of winter and while I enjoyed photographing the sights of the frozen season, what I truly longed to capture was the beauty of summer, more specifically, flowers. They are truly natures most beautiful creation; so many colours and shapes sending perfume into the air, a seemingly endless combination of flowing curves and exotic patterns. I awoke this morning after a steady rain fell during the night and plump droplets coated the newly blossomed petals in the front garden. I love how you can find such beauty so close to home.
