Imagine being old. Imagine living in a nursing home, possibly for several years. During that time, you become accustomed and comfortable. Your housemates become your friends and people you can depend on. Now imagine that you are told the home will be torn down and all residents will be dispersed to other nursing homes throughout the city. This means though some friends will remain with you, others will be lost forever. You will be going to a place you don't know and will have to spend time adjusting to your new surroundings, not easy at any time in life but especially not easy when you are old. This happened in 1981 and I was there to document the last couple of days these people had together. It was not easy for me either.
