Now that we are back in the San Francisco Bay Area after five wonderful years of living in Korea, my wife and I find that one of the things we miss most is shopping in the old style markets.
Korean markets are traditionally where most people go to shop for their daily necessities. Housewives shop early every morning for fresh ingredients to cook with. Working people go to the markets to eat lunch or to grab a bite to eat (or a drink) after a hard day at the office.
The younger generation tend to shop more in the new department stores or the popular areas where there are name brand stores, but still when it comes to food products the old style markets can't be beat.
