Family Manufacture of Handmade Paper

Family Paper Production #9

The paper is made from the bark of mulberry which is first struck, then pulped to be spread in frames before being dried (one day in dry weather). It shows a beautiful paper that is used primarily for the manufacture of umbrellas, decorated paper with leaves and flowers and to make small balloons (traditional festivals).

A wonderful presentation of how these umbrellas are made from a natural source and what pride and detail these people take in each item.

Love your story and have seen similar paper creators in action in Cleveland at the Morgan Conservatory that has its own garden of Japanese mulberry to use in the making. It's a fascinating art.
