The Trams of San Francisco

Antique Tram

I hardly ever drive to go into the downtown area of San Francisco. Usually I jump on the K Line Tram and it takes me right into the heart of the city. Once downtown, I can easily transfer to one of the many old Trams to get to almost any place I need to go.

However, it's the Cable Cars that get all the attention from tourists visiting the city. It is also the cable cars that appear in the photos of magazines and on souvenir photos.

The poor old Trams are the real unsung heros of commuters in San Francisco.
