I live in Timisoara, a city located some 225 N-E from Vukovar. In both cities a multiethnic population lived in peace for centuries. During the Yugoslav Wars i watched and studied closely the siege of Vukovar, and finally, during the summer of 2013 i was able to briefly visit the town and take some photographs. What i wanted to capture was the mobilization of those who were not integrated into the multi-cultural life of the cities against urban multi-culturalism or how the former mayor of Belgrade, Bogdan Bogdanović, characterises the attack on Vukovar as an act of "urbicide", a deliberate assault on urbanism".
