The Project

decayed times

troub.....
recovery
decay
pump
emptyness
thing of the past
cursed chapel
long forgotten dam

I was in photo class when the conversation turned to scary stories. we all exchanged our stories and creepy experiences and during the banter and story telling i was thinking to myself man these things need to be documented. So the project was birthed. In the area that i live (western north carolina) there are an abundant supply of folk tales, creepy stories and ledgends that are just asking to be photographed. So I went around to several "old timers" and friends and began to inquire about creepy and haunted places in the area. I found one of my most extensive sources was my photo professor max. he is from a county about an hour north of mine where there is nothing but wilderness, a few small towns, and a vast array of ledgends and hauntings. .So off i went. Ive been deep in the project for about 2 months now. I plan to continue for several years as new places and stories arrive. The photos ive posted are mostly of an abandoned hospital in banner elk, north carolina. The hospital's front section was used by a small practice until around 2000 but the larger rear section was abandoned in the early 70's. The whole buliding is decaying in its haunted state several miles out of town away from the life of the area. The other photo included is of an old abandoned hydroeldctric dam which you'll see more of soon. I will have more photos and stories soon.
