The Sunflower Field

The Sunflower Field

At 'The Sunflower Field', the hip happening place on a humid summer evening in south Alabama, families gather to roam the field and pick flowers. Photographers haul gear for portraits on vintage furniture oddly placed amongst the blooms. A drone buzzes above as you make your way further back into the field, its operator headed in the same direction just a few rows over. The humidity seems to be stronger here, almost unbearable. Sweat starts dripping down your back and your skinny jeans strangle your legs, not the best choice, but they hinder the mosquitoes. Bees buzz all around, stuffing their faces in the spirals packed with pollen, a grasshopper hides in a tight bloom yet to pop, and a yellow-striped armyworm sneaks its way across the foliage. You've come here for the Golden Hour but found so much more.
