The Project

camera phone series

I have been told by friends and viewers that I have a good eye for composition, and that has fueled me to shoot photos, (with permission to shoot photos). This has helped me to overcome the long struggle of pride mixed with insecurity about showing someone my photos knowing I am not a 'real photographer' which could be also read as ' I don't know what I'm doing'.

I shot with regular film and a pentax 1000 for a short while and then accepted that I was never going to bother with accepting the burden of balancing light with focus. I shoot now with a digital camera but to be honest, still don't have it set right, because I recently discovered that none of my shots that looked great on the screen had strong enough DPI (?) to be enlarged past a 4x6. So I have a lot to learn.

The camera phone series was my way of liberating myself from the fear of a poor quality photo coinciding with my move to Manhattan this fall. These photos were all taken from spring 06 to fall 06. Perhaps you have some camera phone series of your own or will be either a) inspired to shoot your own or b) pat yourselves on the back for your own technical skills. Good for you for having the patience to read the manual!
