Why I shoot..

There are a lot of reasons why I shoot pictures. It helps document where I have been and maybe where I'm going. It is extremely personal while being available to you and others. Maybe I shoot because I think I have a talent and I can indulge that talent. I guess vanity could be a small part of it too. There is one reason though that tells me why more than any other. It's the feeling I get when I impress myself.
When I shoot I may take dozens of pictures of the same subject and one by one they can all be crap until I get to the one. That one out of a hundred that just screams, "you did it"! It's like a surprise present.
That's why I shoot. That thrill of getting the shot. That single image can turn into multiple kudos. I like it. You like it. Someone buys it. It doesn't get any better than that.
So when I feel like shooting is really a waste of time or I'm broke and don't see the point, I open a file and look at some kudos and keep shooting.
