Marrakech

Marrakech Riad

I spent four days in Marrakech recently with a good friend.

Its a pretty full on city and to be honest its not a place to goto for relaxation. If you are not use to constant begging and harrasment from stall holders it can become very annoying. Lucky for me I had spent a long time in Asia and have become use to the tricks that they use to reel you in, but at the end of the day they are only trying to make a living like the rest of us.

Anyway taking pics in Marrakech can be fun and exciting with so much going on its hard to capture every moment. Most shots have to be done on a candid basis, as I few times people did ask me for money. Never take pictures of the snake charmers or street entertainers they will follow you home if you dont give them any comeback. Also keep a close eye on the weather as sometimes you may get a brief or long sandstorm.

I did get up for sunrise on my last day in Marrakech and got some really great pictures, I find it easier to work, when Im on my own and I really should not let work take up all my time when on holidays with my friends. So I always take maybe a half or full day to shot.

Most of the pictures I see on the web of Marrakech are always very colourful, So I decided I wanted to do the majority in B&W

Next trip Baza, Spain
