Cork City has had a long association with the Sea It is situated at top of the worlds second largest natural harbour. The River Lee has brought people and goods right up to the city since time began.
The city was home to many industrys and the British Navy for centurys and until the 1980s Ford and Dunlop still had factories just alongside these Docks right in the heart of the town.
But now they are practically dead with only small amounts of lumber and some fertiliser passing through.
They city is putting a new plan into action, Hotels Aprtments and venues will be the new commodities. People will throng back to these parts and rejunvinate the riverside once more. A new city will emerge. It is similar to a plan from the late 1700's. The docks hark back to a time long past. And soon transformed they form a part of the future but
will it work this time?
