Big, Beautiful Alaska

Alaska has always had a special hold on me. Growing up I loved autumn and winter. When the were clocks turned back in the fall and it got dark earlier was conforting to me.

I love cold weather, snow, animals and nature. How could Alaska not be my favorite place. It was my favorite place before I ever got the chance to go there and experience it first hand.

Never before have I been to a place for the first time that I felt strangly at home. Having just come back from my third trip there I find myself starting to think about my fourth and beyond.

I went in September for the Denali road lottery, which I happened to luck out and get a pass. The end of Feb was for the Iditarod, which I hope to go back to next year.

Who knows, maybe I will go and end up staying.
