I came upon these guys while driving around. Did a mad woman U-turn and reached for my camera. The other drivers on the road must've thought I was nuts.

I've lived in this area for 7 years and have never seen a Sandhill crane. Well on this day I got an extra special treat. I saw them up close and personal, without the hinderance of a cage.

In all there were 2 adults and 2 babies. I was smiling all day afterwards, I was stunned they stayed there, going about they're business, letting me shoot picts of them. I didn't bother taking the time to change my lens over to my zoom, so I was working with my 42mm. It seemed I was right on top of them.

The mad woman U-turn and angry drivers around me were well worth it.
