10 Reasons Why I'm Here

Hector Ortiz, whom I had the pleasure of adding to my Contacts list a couple of weeks ago, submitted a great "why" list. Got me to thinking. Here's mine.
1. I love photography.
2. A photographer captured an image and then agonized over whether it was "good enough" to upload and expose to their peers. Remind you of standing in front of class? Love that tension.
3. The talent on display here is remarkable. Remarkable.
4. The styles and ideas on display here are also remarkable. Ideas I would never have thought of but now I would like to experiment with.
5. People from all over the world say: "I like your photo". Wow.
6. You go look at their photos. Wow.
7. You get to see images from places you will never, ever go to.
8. You see images that make you determined to go to that place.
9. The JPG guys (who are those guys?) have done a great job of fostering the Zen of this site and the magazine. It has excellent energy.
10. Within my lifetime, one of my images WILL be selected for the magazine's cover... :-))
