New York Finest: "Courtesy, Professionalism, Respect"

Comparing NYPD officers to many of the officers on the European continent is trying to compare apples with pears. In many countries in Europe police officers are not just disrespected but also looked down upon, cursed at and the gestures well the gestures speak for themselves. Most of it is due to politicians but also people get used to the soft approach. It seems the bad guys get a way and we get into the slipstream of "targets" the individual officers get to reach their monthly fine target. I curse at times as I speed at times, I park my car and get back to late only to find a fine between my windscreen and whipers and when my car get broken into and there is no police around and I have to sit at the police station for 1.5 hours just to get heard. In the US police are looked at in a different way. And even though we might not always like the way they act...let's face it we want them around when we need them and if they weren't around at all...the world would be literally in chaos. Let us sometimes think of those facts ... and if you get get caught speeding not paying your parking fee and other less serious "offenses" just think of what they do to make up for it. It's a job, someone has to do it and it's not always rewarding to them either.
