Photo Essay

Time travel II

E. Michaelis & Co.

Quite exactly six months ago I made a photowalk on a foggy Sunday morning. After having postprocessed the first photo which appeared to be from the 1930ies, I had the idea to make it a whole series, which I called imaginary time travel on a foggy Sunday morning. Some of these photos are to be seen in my photo stream here on JPGmag. The idea was to use postprocessing to give them the special vintage look and feel of the respective decades, ranging from the 19'th century to today.

Last Sunday I was on a photowalk again, not far away from the place I visited last time. This time it was a brilliant and sunny Sunday morning and this time I wasn't in the mood to tinker around with photoshop, this time I was about to find the real stuff and to report it as honestly as I could.

So if you like, I'd love to invite you to join me on a time travel through Hamburg's history, displaying the glory and curse of the past, or just discovering things hardly to be seen anymore. Enjoy!
