A Call for submissions in three contests!
Do you have one of those serene, beautiful, peaceful captures you're looking to send somewhere & make a difference in someone's life? If so, I've the perfect place for you to submit that photo!....
Submit an entry to the "Photos for Health" contest & you may be able to put a smile on someone's face for a long time with a permanent installation!
This art initiative is in conjunction with the Clarian Health Network. The Photos for Health project consists of three photo contests, each with a different theme, in which you have the opportunity to truly make a difference.
The project aims to display one-of-a-kind original photographs which are derived from nature. The winning composition will be permanently installed in the various facilities in an effort to improve the lives of patients, families & health care professionals.
Photo submissions are being accepted for:
(1) Simon Cancer Center; Theme: Nature; May 31st deadline;
(2) Clarian Arnett Health; Theme: Trees; May 31st deadline; &
(3) Riley Hospital for Children; Theme: Animals & Ecosystems; Sept 7th deadline (UPDATE: deadline extended til Jan 18, 2009)
To find out more about the project or to register & submit your original work check out http://photosforhealth.com
NOTE: After my initial announcement here on JPG, I've learned of JPGers children being air-ported to Riley's or stories from JPGers that are health practitioners. A common thread, aside from a passion for photography, is your message that this initiative would make a difference to a staff member, a patient, or a visiting family member. Thank you all for your correspondence and enthusiastic participation.
