Photo Essay

Hello Polaroid?

My daughter, experiencing Polaroid for the first time.

I have always loved Polaroids. I just could never justify spending the money on the film. One day not so long ago, I read that it was the end of Polaroid film production, and I panicked. I went online and spent SO much money on a small stockpile of film. I broke out all my Polaroid cameras that had been collecting dust. Then I realized that my children probably had no real memory of instant film photos because I had been so stingy with it for all these years. I then introduced my kids to the magic of Polaroid. They were excited and amazed when they watched the images appear before their eyes. "It's different than looking at the back of your other camera.", said my oldest daughter, referring to my digital. "Is it magic?", asked my youngest daughter.

I answered her with a most certain "Yes! It is magic!".

Thank you, Edwin Land, for giving us your magical creation.
