Flying through work...

What's your profession? Please describe it.
I am a Captain for a major U.S. airline flying the Boeing 737. Flying around with 137 passengers and crew of 5 in a 40 million dollar machine isn't too bad.
Where do you do this?
We only fly within the United States, lower 48.
Do you enjoy what you do?
Yes. It is a fun job. I work with great people for a great company. I really like what I do, so work is as good as "work" could be. I get to see almost all that our country has to offer, sites, sounds, people, etc.
When you were young, what did you want to "be" when you grew up?
I was a fairly successful amateur surfer growing up. I hoped to be professional, but about the time I went to college I realized I wasn't good enough to make a living. My dad was a professional pilot, and encouraged me to learn to fly. I did, and was hooked. When I was really young I also thought I wanted to be a weatherman.
Do you feel stuck doing what you are doing?
No. I really am lucky to be where I am (my company and position). I do have concerns with this crazy airline industry.
What are the most and least satisfying parts of your job?
Being away from my family about half the time.
How do you combine photography with your job?
Since becoming interested in photography I have been bringing a camera to work. I get to see many interesting, and cool things while at work, and a lot of them are from the air, which is a great perspective.
Anything else you'd like to add?
I really am enjoying photography, and am trying to learn and improve. Thanks to all those who leave comments and favorites with regard to my photos.

Don't do business with this gentleman. Cheat, liar, and very much bla bla! Unless it is for cocaine.
