Black and white

Black and white is gritty. It has the quality to make you see things without masks, see things the way they really are. It also makes you take a peek at a parallel universe.
When I lived in NYC we could not afford a color TV. Once I got one, I tuned out the colors to see my favorite shows. I saw the city in monotones. Color was distracting, bothersome, and intrusive.
Now I live in the Caribbean and color is flooding everything. It's nice, but I still belong to a world that is black, white and gray.
And there is nothing depressing about it.
