Hazardous Heat

Holding the Hose

To set the scene.....

It was 10:30 am on Saturday, August 1st, 2008. The fire pager went off. Dispatch said there was a fire across the street from the fire department. At this point the big, bellows of black smoke were high in the sky.

Departments from all over the area were called in to assist with battling the blaze. The temperture on Saturday was 104 degrees and all the men were wearing thier bunker gear. It was so hot that some of the guys got sick. After nearly six hours of fighting the fire, it was finally out.

What started out as a chance to capture my husband in action turned out to be an amazing turn of events.
