Dear JPG enthusiasts,

My name is Laura, and I am recent college grad of graphic design, and like all of you I have a passion for photography. I am a European living in the States back to visit Europe. Currently I'm floating around Germany meeting old friends and making new ones, and while I'm at it, taking loads of pictures. One of my new friends is fellow JPGer Laura B-T. http://www.jpgmag.com/people/bostonthek I knew she lives in the area that I am originally from, so I asked if I could visit and go for a walk with her, and shoot. I think it was a very positive experience for both of us. I told her about my upcoming trip to Scandinavia, a place that I have been wanting to go for a very long time, and she suggested to put the route on JPG to possible meet some more phootgraphers. Now once German bureaucracy lets me get my ticket that dream will be a reality. Geared with as little things as I need and my camera in hand I will make my way to the big North. My trip will start in Kobenhavn on September 9, 2008 where I will stay a couple of days. I asked a friend, who had spent his study abroad in this city and he told me to just move there, so I know I can expect great and beautiful things. I will then make my way via Goeteborg to Stockholm, then to Oslo and Bergen (I am told this is an amazing train trip) back to Kobenhavn from where I will make my leave back to Germany and eventually to the States: Atlanta and then Seattle area, the place I currently officially reside. I plan on doing the ScanRail so I am somewhat flexible with dates and places and am open for suggestions. All in all I plan on being back in Kobenhavn on September 30th to fly back to Frankfurt. If you live on this route and feel like meeting a fellow photographer or at least point me to some place that is worth seeing and shooting, that may or may not be in my 2 pound Europe guidebook that I left in the States, I would much appreciate it. I realize that I am only doing major cities so if there is something on the way worth detouring please let me know too. I have quite some international travel experience under my belt and would say that is my biggest passion along with art and design. To learn more about me and for references please check out my couchsurfing profile: http://www.couchsurfing.com/people/bluepunchbaggy.

I would love to hear from you, and possibly meet you

Sincerely

Laura, aka lalaure

P.S. I apologize to Finland, but I will not make it this time. It is the only Scandinavia country I have visited and what I saw, I loved. One day I will return though. From my good Finish friend I know that your map often gets cut off or left out completely on European maps, but there is too much ground to cover in too little time. She also told me that Santa Claus lives there, so I need to be extra kind.
