In the Middle of Nowhere

What city do you live in? What neighborhood?
I live in Sumter, South Carolina, about ten miles away from the air force base my husband works at. There isn't much around here, so the fun thing to do is run around barefoot with my dog, Logan. The long roads take you backwards and forwards and well... lost.
What are some adjectives that describe your neighborhood?
Quiet. Red-neck. Rural. Beautiful. Grassy.
How long have you lived there, and what brought you there?
I have only lived here for a month. I moved here from Ohio when i got married.
What is your favorite thing about this place? Your least favorite?
My favorite thing about living in sumter is that it's very empty. there isn't much around. I love space, and the outdoors and i hate consumeristic America. I like seeing little shack stores around. Like there's this little chinese take out place. The building itself is no bigger than a loft.
My least favorite thing about this place is how hot it is and all the mosquitos.
Do you feel that you belong there?
Of course! And there isn't really anywhere else i would like to be, except home to see my niece and nephews.
What is the most common misconception about where you live?
That it is a red-neck beat-nick town and that all the people are dumb red-necks that drive pick-ups everywhere.
What is a special fact about your city that you have to live there to know?
That Bojangles has THE best sweet tea and biscuits on this side of the Mississippi.
What aspect of your city do you secretly love?
The AF Base. All the airmen i know don't really like it because there isn't much to do on it, but i actually like it.
