Nice to Meet You: Painted Bunny

Painted Bunny

I was walking outside and around my dorm room at the UCSC campus, when I stumbled upon this amazing site, a painted bunny. Not really a painted bunny, but one of the students on campus just walking around freely with her nipples covered with duct tape, glasses, slashes of green, pink and yellow paint, little boy green under-roo's and of course bunny ears. She was clearly a symbol of creative expression.

I had told her that I thought she was gorgeous and that maybe we could do some collaborations, because I thought she was so beautiful and comfortable in front of the camera. She started to laugh, "I laugh because my parents think I am fat. My mother tells me that when she was my age she was a stick!" I found it strange that even her own parents don't see her beauty. She also told me her father is six foot something, of Irish and English descent and her mother's decent was of Japanese I think. If anything she is tall and curvaceous, with a cool sense of style. Yet, I have always have found that some of the most beautiful people have been those of mixed races, including my boyfriend Aaron. Yet, in general we are all beautiful despite what our parents, media, or what I even think.

I am lucky to have even shot this at the moment that I did, I couldn't even think of a better way of creating an interesting set of shots, it's really quite amazing to have a person to photograph, without putting much effort into it.
