What city do you live in? What neighborhood?
The Linden neighborhood of Silver Spring, Maryland.
What are some adjectives that describe your neighborhood?
Sub-urban, magical, diverse and the center of the universe.
How long have you lived there, and what brought you there?
I have lived in Silver Spring for four and half years and I live here to be close to my familiars.
What is your favorite thing about this place? Your least favorite?
My favorite thing about Silver Spring is the people and my least favorite thing about Silver Spring is the people who complain about all the people.
Do you feel that you belong there?
We all belong, that's why I love Silver Spring.
What is the most common misconception about where you live?
Some people (including Andrew Bourdain of No Reservations) refer to it as Silver Spring"s".....
What is a special fact about your city that you have to live there to know?
The Discover Channel is located in downtown Silver Spring.
What aspect of your city do you secretly love?
The fact that it was considered a "bad" neighborhood when I was growing up.
Anything else you'd like to add?
Rachel Carson, a resident of Silver Spring, wrote her famous book "Silent Spring" while living in my town. She died in Silver Spring in 1964.
