What city do you live in? What neighborhood?
San Diego, CA
Normal Heights
What are some adjectives that describe your neighborhood?
scenic, surf, ocean, coast, beach community, urban yet rural
How long have you lived there, and what brought you there?
I have lived in San Diego for three years.
I came here for work
What is your favorite thing about this place? Your least favorite?
My favorite thing about San Diego is the Beach.
My least favorite thing is the skunks.
Do you feel that you belong there?
I really feel that I belong here.
What is the most common misconception about where you live?
The Most common misconception about San Diego is that it is prohibitively expensive.
What is a special fact about your city that you have to live there to know?
The traffic isn't that bad, you just have to know how to drive in it.
What aspect of your city do you secretly love?
Even the rich people here are pretty laid back.
Anything else you'd like to add?
One has to venture out after the sun goes down to find a unique aspect to this city and beaches. Most think of SOCAL beaches as just sand, but if you look, you will find places that resemble northern cal and Oregon coastline. A beach can turn into a totally different place just with the changing of the tides, and the height of the surf. A busy city street in the heart of downtown can resemble a ghost town after 2 a.m. and give you a feel of what it might have looked like fifty years ago.
