A Victorian Home

Last Saturday MainStreet Libertyville hosted the Annual Dickens of a Holiday at Cook Memorial Park. It was rather windy and cold. The main reason we came out was because my daughters would like to see Santa so they could read their wish lists. While waiting for Santa to come back from feeding his reindeers, we looked for a warm place and ended up on this well preserved victorian house.
According to the tour guide Ansel Cook was once a politician and a contractor who helped rebuilt Chicago structures after the great fire. The house is absolute stunning . Personal collections were all preserved. Every room has fireplace. The wedding gowns of his 3 wives are properly displayed. We really like the place settings with fine china.
There were lots to see and learn from the past.
