Raising carp has a long history in this territory. The first written accounts of fishpond construction date back to the 11th century, when monasteries maintained the fishponds for raising carp, which was an important food for Lent.
Carps voyage begin in huge ponds. After that, they wait in special tanks until days around Christmas eve, which is on the 24th of December. That day all the carps end as the christmas dinner.
