What city do you live in? What neighborhood?
I live in Largo, Florida which is right outside St. Petersburg.
What are some adjectives that describe your neighborhood?
The neighborhood I live in is a mix of suburbia and nature. There are parks where some of the most beautiful birds in the state take up residence and only hundreds of feet away you will most likely find a busy road.
How long have you lived there, and what brought you there?
I have lived her for a little over 4 years. I moved from Charleston, South Carolina to be with my fiance. This was never a place I had considered living before but work drew my fiance and I here and I am, so far, very happy with that turn of events.
What is your favorite thing about this place? Your least favorite?
My favorite thing in this part of Florida is the wildlife. There are parks everywhere and a slice of the wilderness is never far away.
The heat here, during the summertime, is sometimes almost unbearable...but during the winter, it can't be beat.
Do you feel that you belong there?
As I said, this was never a place I pictured myself living, but it feels very natural and peaceful.
What is the most common misconception about where you live?
Some people consider St. Petersburg and "old person" city, compared to Tampa. Recently, however, it seems that more and more young people are calling this city their home. New art is springing up everywhere and I feel that the city is younger at heart than people think.
What is a special fact about your city that you have to live there to know?
Pirates used to hang out here.
What aspect of your city do you secretly love?
The downtown area is populated, but not overly so.

Wonderful story, Charidy! I agree with you all the way down. I live in Crystal River on the Nature Coast in Central FL. We have the same birds and wildlife here. Great photos and story. Voting yeah.
