My Favourite Spa Stays Around Amer
A warm, personal round-up of the resort spas, heritage courtyards and garden villas I keep returning to around Amer, Jaipur.
The trip I got wrong the first time
Fifteen years back I ran a night desk and got good at telling which lobby was doing real work at 3am and which one was only posing for the daytime photo. My first pass through Amer's spa hotels was rushed - I judged the pool by the marketing shot, not the boiler behind it. I've gone back slower since, and what I trust now isn't the photograph, it's whether the front desk actually answers at midnight and the sauna is genuinely hot. That's the retake I'm doing here.Grand resorts along the fort road
Amber Fort sits close enough that four of Amer's bigger spa addresses build the whole day around it - pool first, temple later. These are the ones I send friends to when they want a proper resort feel rather than a simple room.-

8.9Taj Amer, Jaipur - the rooftop pool, steam room and indoor play area make it my go-to when the adults want the spa and the kids need somewhere to run; peek at the rooms ->.

9.0Raffles Jaipur - yoga on the sun terrace before breakfast, then a slow lunch under the garden's mountain view, is about as good a reset as I've found near the fort; see it for yourself ->.

9.1Fairmont Jaipur - Zoya for dinner and Aza's library bar after turn a spa afternoon into a proper evening, and the folk dance shows are a nice surprise for guests browsing the dining options ->.

8.8Le Meridien Jaipur Resort & Spa - pool-courtyard rooms and Surya Vilas's Rajput menu by the water make it the one I'd book for a proper long weekend ->.
Heritage courtyards worth a second look
A little further out, two older properties trade some polish for a lot more room to breathe - gardens, courtyards, the slower pace I associate with going back for a proper retake rather than the first rushed shot.-

8.9Khas Bagh - mountain views from the terrace and free bicycles for exploring make it feel more like a working farm stay than a resort, which I happen to like; if you're comparing spa hotels in Amer, Jaipur this one's worth the drive out.

9.0Indana Palace Jaipur (see recent stays ->) - bathrobes and slippers wait in every room, and an outdoor pool and spa centre that don't try to be anything more than restful.
The private-pool villa
One address here still runs on its own private pool, and it's the one I'd pick if I only wanted to see my own reflection in the water.-
Photos
8.6Buena Vista Luxury Garden Spa Resort - the Heritage Villa Suite with its own private pool, a welcome drink and a standing 20% discount on resort services is the one splurge I'd actually recommend; check the villa ->.
Simple wellness stops on the city side
Closer to the city, near Jal Mahal, two simpler spa hotels do the basics without the resort theatre - no folk dance shows, just a working pool and a decent breakfast.-
Photos
7.7Lilypool - The Heritage Jalmahal (look it over ->) - soundproofed rooms and a continental breakfast are the quiet, practical draw here, not the spa treatments.

Kk Royal Hotel & Convention Centre - a sauna and steam room tucked behind a sprawling multi-cuisine restaurant, useful if your group can't agree on dinner; browse the convention centre ->.
