Of all characters in the drama, the Golden Deer was the most difficult to photograph.

This is actually the minister of the Demon King Ravana, who (against his wishes) disguised himself as a Golden Deer in order to trap Sita.

She was flitting all over the place, her movements light as a butterfly, swift like a humming bird... constantly waving her hands and shifting her eyes from side to side.

I had just about given up trying to photograph her and it was only during the fourth performance that I managed some acceptable pictures. And just this one that I consider quite nice. The rest were all badly blured.

Part of a series of hands portraits from a performance of the Balinese version of the Hindu epic, Ramayana.

Thanks Robert :-) As mentioned, this "golden deer" was very difficult to capture as she was flitting all over.
