This is close to the all time classic Australian icon, (automobile, not the house) the FX Holden,............( the FJ was the real classic ). The house is way priceless also.

Released in 1953 and probably our first "real" car to call our own.
This thing has been hanging out of this house (which is on a wrecker's property) since at least the early 80's and probably well before then.....I just noticed it for the first time then.

The road on which this photo was taken used to be a back track around Burleigh Heads and Surfers Paradise back in the 70's and maybe early 80's........now it's the multi lane M1 Motorway linking New South Wales and Queensland, (Brisbane).

This is only about 2 kilometers from where I work.....I see it every day, but it has taken me this long to photograph it.

The reason I live in Queensland is explained by the colour of the sky.

This is fabulous -- I thought it must be a pub or something (which would be cool) but I think this is even cooler!
